This project explored the creative potential of recycled cork and wood through material experimentation and sustainable design practices. The process began with the creation of 30 unique samples, each showcasing different techniques such as cutting, layering, carving, bonding, and texturing to manipulate the materials’ properties. These experiments highlighted the versatility and aesthetic qualities of cork and wood, providing a foundation for understanding their applications in design. Based on the insights gained from the samples, a final object was crafted, seamlessly integrating the two materials to celebrate their natural textures and tones. This project emphasized the importance of sustainability and demonstrated how recycled materials can inspire innovative and functional design solutions.
