bloom

It truly breaks my heart to see many natural spaces often heavily contaminated with trash. I wanted to convey this feeling of despair in my painting. The colors represent a the colors of the flower, and I choose watercolor to try to capture the texture of blood on cloth so it looks like the flower is bleeding the colors. The flower has a spine and an eye. This represents how the flower can see all of the contamination, deforestation and destruction of nature. The flower can see and feel everything yet the flower cannot do anything. This painting reminds me how it is our responsibility to make a positive change on our environment as nature cannot do anything but feel and watch.
